Recently there was a Culture Festival held where I live and my family and I had the opportunity to sample foods from some of the booths setup. I went for the Japanese booth and tried Onigiri for the first time. I thought it was quite yummy. I think I need to learn how to make it as a snack. I could have eaten 4 at that time easily. (more…)

FLCL Fan? Manga Slated for 2012
According to a tweet released by Dark Horse Comics (@DarkHorseComics) a FLCL manga omnibus is to be released in 2012. Me, I enjoyed how the anime went in seemingly many directions at once. I’m curious to see how the handle that style story telling in the manga form.
“FLCL follows an ordinary Japanese sixth-grader named Naota as he struggles with adolescent issues like his big brother leaving home and his brother’s girlfriend Mamimi making advances on him. His life gets turned upside down when a hyperkinetic woman named Haruko runs him down with her Vespa scooter — and then settles into Naota’s home. ‘Snakes on a Plane’ Director to Remake Live Action Version of ’Kite’
His new movie Shark Night 3D opened yesterday, and despite not expecting huge box office returns director David R. Ellis has inked his next deal with the studio Distant Horizon. Variety reports, Ellis will helm a live action remake of the Japanese anime movie Kite, which was originally released in 1998 by filmmaker Yasuomi Umetsu. (more…)
