Many fellow figuring collectors are probably aware of this special figure being made available. For those of you who don’t, read on to see what Good Smile Company has cooked up. (more…)

K-On! News
Some really exciting news is out if you are a K-On fan. First, there are a couple of new collectibles up for reservation now. A cute set of the girls in the costumes they wore to recruit new members. The are by Wave, makers of the swimsuit diva series, and the entire set retails for around ¥6,090.

K-On! Gang in Costume
Another figure recently released for reservation is Alters version of Ritsu completely with drum set. This is an awesome looking figure and as you would suspect, just a touch pricey at around ¥10,290 or so retail. It’s a chunk of change to put toasted a figure but considering how detailed this figure is and what it might cost after reservations are closed.

K-On! Ritsu by Alter
As I was putting this post together, I came across another figure worth mentioning. Ui, Yui’s sister has been rendered in Nendo form and is also up for reservation… She can be found at Hobby Search and retails for around ¥3,500.
I have added Ritsu and Ui to my list and since both of these figures are due in February, I think I can set some aside for their purchase.
Lastly, a K-On film has been announced at the end of episode 25 as being green lighted. I’m excited and looking forward to the movie. I wonder what they will cover. College life perhaps? Pieces of high school life we were not shown?
At any rate, I thought it awesome to come across these items.
K-On Nendoroid Collection
I was pleased the other day when the girls of K-On stopped by on their way to their next gig. Got lucky enough to get a picture while they were here…
I haven’t posted any of my collection in a while so I figured it was about time. The scenery is the Nedoroid Playsets A & B. Perhaps I should put their instruments out and get a rendition of “Fuwa Fuwa Time”.
Nendoroid Dead Master up for reservation
I have yet to see Black Rock shooter but I can tell you the art and figures captivated me early on. The detail put into the figures by Good Smile is just really good. This new nendo is no exception. The Dead Master stands ready to fight the Black Rock Shooter. Here’s your chance to reserve the Dead Master and stage your own nendo scale battles.

The Dead Master Nendoroid can be reserved at Hobby Search and other locations. Retail is about ¥3,334.
March 2010 Loot
March is one of those months I dreaded because I just knew I was gonna be hit with multiple deliveries. Well.. it did not disappoint and I am pleased to say that I am not disappointed in the loot either (aside from the melted credit card). This month saw the arrival of Saber Lily by Alter, Tainaka Ritsu Nendoroid by Good Smile, Blu-Ray version of Evangelion 1.11, Blu-Ray version of Eureka Seven: good night sleep tight young lovers, and the sound track for the Eureka Seven movie. Both Blu-Ray movies were great. Got to crank the volume on both and enjoy the full sound fx.

March 2010 Loot
January 2010 Loot
Here she is, Yui in Nendo form. Yui is my January 2010 loot. I was expecting a number of other items but so far most of my orders are continually being pushed back. If you are trying to watch a budget, it can be a little frustrating because you are not quite sure when it will hit your plastic.

Nendoroid Yui
Nonetheless, I was very pleased when I received Yui from Hobby Link. As usual, well packed in a sturdy box. Yui is still sealed today but with Spring and Summer approaching, I have hopes of bringing her as well as other out for some photo shoots. My goal is to collect both scale and Nendo versions of the K-On gang. For the most part I am focusing on Good Smile Company for the Nendos and Alter for the scale versions. (I confess, I have ordered the UpLark version of Mio) I am still waiting (impatiently) for my Nendo Mio.
I’ll post this months loot, at the beginning of next month. I’m excited about the figurines that have been delivered already… ![]()
Figure Previews, Coming Soon
Just a quick preview post here for some items coming to your shelves soon.
To start, Figma Hirasawa Yui School Uniform Edition. She’s available now for reservation at several online retailers. Retail price 2,800 ¥. At last check, Hobby Search has closed its reservations.

Figma Hirasawa Yui
Of course Yui would probably be in a world of trouble were it not for her ever dependable little sister, Hirasawa Ui. She is due out in February, retail price 2,500 ¥.

Figma Hirasawa Ui
Next up, a real cutie. Snow Miku Hatsune. This is a special edition created as a replica of the sculpture to be erected at the Sapporo Snow Festival. Note the transparent ends of her hair and the snowflakes throughout… Retail 3,000 ¥.

Nendoroid Snow Miku Hatsune
We pause now as a ogle over this next figure… Another version of Saber from the series Fate / Stay Night. Ok, I admit it, I’m a Saber fan. This may look familiar to a previous version because it is. Some of her armaments has been removed and facial detail changed. I like the detail on the scabbard and the base. Retail 9,000 ¥.

Scale Saber Lily ~Golden Caliburn~
And lastly for now, MORE K-On! poison. This time in the form of both Mio and Ritsu in Nendoroid form performing for you on an included di:stage. Retail at 8,000 ¥.

Nendoroid Mio & Ritsu
Each of these figures are due to be release in February of this year. Talk about short notice… I will probably have to pass on these as I am still expecting figures I ordered last year. If I can, I would have to choose Ui and Miku out of this batch. I don’t have any Miku figurines in my collection but this Snow version is just to cute.
2009 a look back on loot
2009, one heck of a year. I hope all of you faired well and that 2010 proves to be an even better year than the last. For me, 2009 was a year of firsts… I got really into anime as I discovered new sources I never knew existed. Set my sites on attending some conventions and hope one year to make it to Japan for a convention. Also, this past year I discovered (much to my wallets regret) collecting figurines. Thank you to all that contributed to the poisoning of my mind. I appreciate it!
So, what did I collect this year? (In no particular order)
- Drossel – just looks awesome, is awesome. One of my favorites thus far in my collection. I wish Disney would show Fireball here in the States but the dialog would probably get lost in translation.
- Yui – from K-On! Lets face it, she’s kinda cute and gets into all sorts of antics. My daughter fell in love with her character on K-On! so I ended up getting the Mobip figurine.
- Mio, Ritsu and Mugi – Not wanting to split the group up, I had to get Mio, Ritsu and Mugi as well in Mobip form.
- Horo – My first exposure to Spice and Wolf was when I heard the closing song for the first season, “The Wolf Whistling Song” by Ringo Hiyori. I was listening to Radio Kawaii on WinAmp when I first heard the tune and had to know what the anime was about. I ended up with 2 figurines of Horo. One from Season One and another as she appears in the Manga.
- Rin, Kuro – The next 2 are kind of an odd selection. I had seen one of them in photos taken in all sorts of outdoor / indoor arrangements and just thought it was cute. My first figurine collected, ever, Rin Kokonoe. Since I don’t like splitting up sets, I also picked up Kuro Kagami, my last figurine of 2009.
- Sakura – Lastly on my 2009 list is Sakura Matō from the series Fate / Stay Night. I picked this character for the attention to detail that went into it (that and the price was good too).
Here are a few photos….

This post was influenced by Zenical sharing her collection of goodies over on zotaku.com.

Mimi Usa from Kodomo no Jikan – Reservable
From the series ‘Kodomo no Jikan‘ comes the last character to complete the trio, Mimi Usa. Complete with 3 expressions, movable joints and stickers to decorate her school bag.

Mimi Usa Nendoroid
If you were fortunate to snag the other 2 in this series, you could line them up and have them perform just like in the series credits…

Kodomo no Jikan Collection
Mimi retails for about 3,500 Yen and is available now for reservation at Hobby Search. I have made my reservation already. Anyone else adding Mimi to their collection?
Here are links to the other 2 characters in this series: Kigami Kuro (still reservable), Kokonoe Rin.
