Spring seems to be sneaking up on us pretty quickly and with that the new anime season. There are a number of sources that you could look through to find what is coming out this year and when and sure each vary a little. I thought I would bring you some sources that have taken the time to produce charts outlining the upcoming spring season.
The Cart Driver. I’ve only recently become aware of the charts available their but I find them to be informative. Well worth the look see.
Neregate. Just found out about this site tonight. They too have produced a nice looking chart for the Spring 2011 anime season. (Site may contain some NSFW items)
Moetron: This site provides you with a collection of goodies. They have a chart (nicely done), a table of shows listing release dates and times along with stations, previews where available and links to the official sites.
I found these sites informative for the upcoming and past anime seasons and think you may as well. Are there other sites that you like? I am interested in compiling and adding to this list.
Here’s a peek at the charts. For the full size charts, go to the respective sites (linked above). All credit for the work put into these charts go to the chart creators / authors.

Chartfag: One of early providers of informative lists regarding anime seasons has decided to retire from producing charts. I want to thank you for doing a great job!
It’s hard to believe that Fall is starting up and the new shows are starting this weekend. What happened to the Summer? I don’t feel relaxed for some reason. Weren’t Summers supposed to be relaxing vacation times? Oh well, better luck next year.
In the mean time, we have a whole new selection of shows to watch this Fall season. This season, it appears we have to producers of charts gunning for your viewership. Chartfag and The Cart Driver. (Click the links to see the original postings)

My picks for this season are:
Arakawa Under the Bridge 2
Star Driver (What can I say, I’m a Bones fan)
My Little Sister can’t be this Cute
Ironman (previews looked pretty good)
A Certain Magical Index 2 (floored me when I learned of this)
Hakuouki 2 (got hooked on the 1st season)
These are just my first at a glance choices. There are some OVAs and Specials coming too that I hope to catch. I’m still trying to watch some Spring and Summer titles too.
So while I, like thousands of others of others were desperately try to snag the ultimate in cute Nendoroid Nakano Azusa, I stumbled on this bit on the Neko Magic blog. It appears Alter has turned their eye to Azusa and plans to relsease a version of poison just in time to kill my wallet. This is an automatic must have.
Back in September I posted an entry where UpLark was working on their version of Akiyama Mio. Looking at those images then, the potential looked very promising. Well, just recently UpLark has updated their blog announcing pricing and release dates for this figurine! With that post they shared some exciting photos. I’m liking the detail guys! Nice work… Here are a few of those shots…
A number of new Anime series coming out this Fall have caught my attention. One of these anime is an adaptation from Manga called Kimi ni Todoke (From Me to You).
While looking for a trailer I could share, I came across this well done fan created video based on the Manga.
I was not able to locate a sub’d version of the trailer, yet. When I do, I’ll update this post. Until then… here’s the trailer, in Japanese. Removed from You Tube for copyright claim
Kimi ni Todoke is about a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is nicknamed Sadako (from the ring) because many people see her as strange and often mistake her for a ghost. A boy called Kazehaya kun becomes her friend and, to her, is “100% refreshness.” Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her.
More of what is coming out this fall can be found on zotaku.com. The fine bunch of bloggers there went out of their way to put together a pretty good list. Now if I could only get caught up with my viewing list…
Posted on the Uplark blog…. Here is a sneak peek at what their version of Mio may look like. Here she is dressed in her school festival outfit from the day they first performed. This image is of a prototype in the works. No word on the release date yet. From the looks of it, this version of Mio may be joining my collection as well…
Posted earlier by Danny Choo on his site, the Japan National Tourism Organization is planning to invite 10,000 visitors over in the hopes of boosting tourism in the wake of the earthquake earlier this year. Since the earthquake, parts of Japan have seen tourism drop as much as 80%.
Netflix has decided to keep the DVD rentals at Netflix.com instead of moving them to a new domain name name, Qwikster. In their blog entry, linked above, Netflix notes that expanding into 2 websites would make things more difficult for its members. Makes me happy as an Otaku not having [...]
Read some interesting news today. Funimation and NicoNico have joined forces to provide streaming services. The combination of these two can prove to be a win win for fans and providers alike. Being powerhouse in distribution, Funimation can gain possible first dibs to shows for simulcast.
Japan has announced that it plans to invite 10,000 people to visit Japan on them. Well not completely, you would need to cover food, lodging, etc. The cost of the plane tickets would be covered. The catch is, you will need to publicize about your visit.
